The Holiday Season December 30, 2019

The holiday season is a time of joy, family, and giving. With the magic of the season surrounding us, we can reminisce about the past year and look forward to the hopes of the approaching new year.

Winter is the time that activities indoors (whether cooking, reading, movies or games with family and friends) take precedence. There is laughter, food, and good cheer. The home feels coziest at this time. The warmth of the indoors is a contrast to the cold winds blowing outside. Braving the snow and ice sometimes seems a bit daunting….especially while there are blankets and a fire indoors! Adding ambience to the home can be an enjoyable part of the season.

The right blinds or shades can bring your room together.

Decorations, whether lights, candles, or ornaments, take on a special glow when protected from glare originating from the outdoors, whether cars, the strong winter sun, or streetlights; the right shades or blinds can accomplish this. Make cider, eggnog, or hot chocolate, turn on the lighted decorations, throw on some music, stoke the fire, grab a few blankets, lower the blinds and/or shades, and relax! Winter is the time for giving thanks for the wonderful things in our lives, and having the perfect tranquil backdrop is an important element of this special time.
